Services
For children
Through
tailored 1:1 sessions I work with learners to understand their individual
combination of strengths and weaknesses and embrace how these affect their
ability to learn – we devise ways for them to work that compliment their
learning style and allow them to fulfil their potential.
Sessions are usually an hour long and take place weekly at my home office in Chailey, or are sometimes online or at the child's school. I work with children of all ages and stages; usually the focus is:
- literacy
- numeracy
- modern languages
- study skills / exam preparation
and may be helpful whether they have a diagnosis of
- dyslexia
- dyscalculia
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Developmental Language disorder
- ADHD
- a combination, or no diagnosis.
No long term commitment is required and I try to be flexible.
For schools
The burgeoning numbers of learners with SEN means a growing need to cater to them individually in order for them to access the curriculum fully. I can offer a high-end, embedded service to meet this need - delivering 1:1 sessions within the school timetable and on school premises, working collaboratively alongside teachers and the current SEN department - at no cost or risk to the school.
This will:
- Help the learners understand and cope with their particular learning reality and teach them how to adapt their study to maximise their learning
- Alleviate pressure to do this from any non specialist teachers who are taking on 1:1 support on top of their full time role
- Relieve SEN department
- Support busy teachers in getting children to achieve their next learning goals
- Satisfy worried parents that their children's individual needs are being well catered for
For adults
If your difficulties are only becoming apparent later in life, or you only feel able to tackle them as a grown up I offer adult sessions for help with work or study.
I also work with the adult
literacy charity ReadEasy https://readeasy.org.uk/ who offer free and confidential, one-to-one reading
coaching.
